This document provides a standardized protocol for measuring, correcting, and monitoring QTc intervals during initiation and maintenance of antiarrhythmic drug (AAD) therapy, with special considerations for atrial fibrillation and wide QRS complexes. It recommends consistent ECG measurement methods, use of the Fridericia correction formula, specific monitoring protocols for dofetilide, sotalol, ibutilide, and procainamide, and defined thresholds for clinical action to reduce the risk of torsades de pointes and other drug-induced arrhythmias.
